Your Audience Needs Your Unique Voice

Now more than ever, your audience needs you. You have a story that people need to hear. I truly believe that each of us has a unique blend of education and experiences that can benefit others. Yet so many of us (you know who you are), don’t think that what we know is of value to other people. They think that others are more knowledgeable, have more experience, are better speakers or writers and so they keep their story to themselves.

However, you are depriving your audience of the benefit of your unique voice. There are some people who just cannot learn from that “guru” that you so admire. He may not speak their “language”, but you do. He may not relate to their challenges, but you sure do, after all, you have been there! He may not be “one of them” and may seem to be too far removed from them. Guess what? He is.

unique voice sets your audience on fire

Light a fire within your audience with you unique voice

But you, on the other hand, are not. You understand them, because you used to be one of them. That is the difference. That is why your audience needs you and your unique voice. Your voice can set the world on fire.

Recently I was listening to a teleseminar by the great motivational speaker Les Brown. He told the story of how he kept seeing the same young man at his speeches all over the country and he asked him why. It turned out that the young man was a drug addict and stopped using drugs the day that he heard Les speak. He stayed clean, but his friends continued to use.

Finally, he told his friends that he stopped using and that they should stop too. And they did… The funny thing is that they were at Les Brown’s speech too, but Les didn’t make an impact. However, they DID hear their friend. It was him they listened to, not the famous motivational speaker.

Use your story and start sharing it to help people. Write blog posts, host teleseminars and even better, share it in person at a workshop or seminar. Workshops and seminars are the most powerful way to connect with your audience, since it is face to face and you have no place to hide.

They are also a great tool to make more money while you serve. Frankly, you can only serve the people you need to serve, if you make money doing it. Let’s face it, if we can’t make a living, we can’t help ourselves, much less other people.

Let me teach you how to create workshops and seminars that share your message, impact more people and make money at the same time during my free teleseminar.

  1. Linda says:

I really appreciate this helpful information. Even though I love and respect a lot of well known gurus, they don’t always connect with me personally … so maybe others who feel the same might prefer my informal, fun style.

    Many thanks for the encouragement!

You hit the nail on the head, Linda. The gurus are all fine and dandy, but they don’t have YOUR story and YOUR experiences and YOUR style. I bet there are plenty of people out there that would love your informal, fun style. Good luck!

  2. This is such an important message, Daphne. So many people compare themselves and their services to the “gurus” and undervalue what they have to offer. Thanks for reminding everyone that even if we offer the same product, we each do it in a unique style that certain people will be attracted to. We can be ourselves and attract our ideal clients.
