What is an information product?
An info product packages your expertise either in books, cds, video, ebooks, etc. Ideally, your information product contains a combination of these things. When you develop a signature program you can reach and help a lot more people with your knowledge. When you sell your services, there are just so many new clients you can take on before you run out of time. While having too many clients is a nice problem to have, it leads to overwhelm and missed opportunities.
Also, there may be people that would really benefit from your services, but just cannot afford the $1,000 or $2,000 it takes to hire you. However, they may happily invest in a $500 product. That allows you to help more people without taking up more of your time. You create it once and it makes money forever. It gets you out of the time for dollars business model and adds an additional stream of income.
Developing an info product is much easier than it sounds and it also is not expensive to do. There are many resources that are either free or low cost that you can use. Others only charge you after you have sold something, which is also important for your cash flow.
