I’ll come right out and say it…
Planning a workshop is hard work. Filling it is even harder. If you have ever hosted a workshop and you couldn’t get the butts in the seats, you know that it is not a lack of effort that keeps your workshop room empty.
You printed flyers, went to all kinds of networking meetings and talked up your event to everyone who would listen. Some people even said they would come, but what happened? Nothing. No sign ups and an empty room.
Disappointing isn’t it? Not just the results of your marketing, but if you have an empty workshop room, it is hard to convert them into clients.
It is fine to work hard, but you also have to work smart.
Filling a workshop room is hard, but it becomes easier when you work smart. And that means you have to focus on all 5 elements of workshop marketing.
If you are working your heart out promoting your workshop and not having the results you are looking for, make sure that your registration page focuses on your audience and the solution that your workshop brings to them.
Common Mistake That Keeps Your Workshop Empty
It is a common mistake that many workshop hosts make. They add their event to Eventbrite and expect people to sign up from that. Unfortunately, while Eventbrite works for some events, workshops and seminars need a different type of registration page.
You need a registration page that you can control, with a headline that attracts interest and induces your audience to read on. Then you can talk to your audience on your registration page and tell them why they should come to your event before you introduce the price. That is something the Eventbrite template doesn’t allow you to do.
