Although the Olympics are behind us, we are still celebrating the athletes. Our champions are making the media rounds, making promotional appearances and getting their endorsements set up. Yes, they are cashing in on their success before they start getting ready for the next competition and the next Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
You hear very little about the driving force behind the athletes; their coaches. There are no promotional appearances for the athletes’ coaches. They are already back to work, getting the next generation ready for the Olympic Games. And many times, there is not just one coach involved, but many. You have the main coach, the strength coach, nutritionist, agility coach and psychologist. It takes a team to win an Olympic medal, or even to get there.
Just like there is a team of coaches behind every successful entrepreneur. Someone who gives them the shortcuts and points the way when we are too close to see the forest for the trees. Someone who has understands you and helps you understand yourself, your goals and how to get there. Someone invaluable.
And just like in this video, the relationship between entrepreneur and coach is special. The good of the athlete/entrepreneur comes first. Sometimes that means a kick in the butt, sometimes it means letting go, so they can move onward and upward…
