Social Media Gratitude

Today is Thanksgiving in the United States, a day we give thanks for the abundance that we experience every day, but not always acknowledge.

social media gratitude

Happy Thanksgiving!

While I am thankful for being able to spend today among my loved ones, eating too much turkey and pumpkin pie, that is not what this post is about.

Today I am also thankful for social media. Networks like Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn are giving me a chance to make new friends and reconnect with old ones all over the world.

It has given me the opportunity to learn from some of the brightest marketing minds on the internet and given me a view of what is possible for myself.

It has given me new friends that support me, act as a sounding board when I need one and give me a kick in the butt when I need that. And that is what I am thankful for most.

So today I am taking a few moments to thank some special people on social media for being there for me.

I will visit Twitter and post a thankful update (or 2) to my friends.

On Facebook, I will post a thank you note on some special friends’ walls.

On LinkedIn, I will send a direct email.

Let your friends and special clients know that you are thankful for them and think about them on Thanksgiving.  It doesn’t have to take much time.

In fact it shouldn’t.  Today is a day you spend with you loved ones. But isn’t it worth 15 minutes to tell those special people on social media how thankful you are?

Tell your mentor how their tips and strategies have changed your life.

Let your friends know that simply being there means the world to you.

Thank your clients for their trust in you.

Just a few words make a huge difference.

Go on. Make their day!

  1. I’m with you on this one, Daphne!

Count me in with those who are thankful for social media.

As a single mum and online marketer, social media definitely fits into my teeny weeny business-building budget. Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn, for starters, have been a saving grace for me.

Not only have I been able to generate leads through social media, I’ve also developed and nurtured the most wonderful relationships with others in my niche and I’ve found fabulous joint venture partners. 🙂

Reducing marketing expenses is one of the big benefit of social media according to the Social Media Examiner. And they surveyed big companies too. So no wonder that we of the shoestring marketing budgets love social media!
