What is the best way to get started with your own seminar? Do you go all out and shoot for the moon with 200-400 people in the room? Or should you keep your event smaller and go for 30-40 people? You have a great topic, a following that loves you and you are so ready for your own stage. With all the talk about making at least 6 figures, if not millions of dollars at your seminar, what is a successful coach or consultant to do?
Let me share with you what I advise my beginning clients to do. Keep it small. It is tempting to go all out and want to fill that seminar room with more than a hundred people. But it is not only a very difficult thing to do, it is totally unnecessary.
The biggest misconception in the seminar industry is that you have to have a big event for it to be lucrative. Nothing is farther from the truth. There have been events that made close to 6 figures with less than 10 people in the room, just as there have been events with 200 attendees that lost money.
Although having a larger event does give you a chance to make more money, I would concentrate on filling a smaller event. It will be much less stressful for you. You can spend more time on providing outstanding content that will make a difference in your audience’s lives. Your event will be more intimate, giving your attendees a chance to get to know each other and you.
Focus on making an offer that makes sense for your attendees to take you up on. Use the event to launch an exclusive, high end mastermind that is a perfect fit for your audience and that offers them more of you and the unique transformation you provide. You will not need hundreds of attendees to get to a six figure seminar. Keep it small and make it successful.
