Although hosting your own live events is immensely rewarding, it is also hard work.  Between planning thmultiply your audience with partnerse content, the handouts, the venue and the marketing you are bound to run yourself ragged.  That is all well and good if you have a packed house.  But if the size of your audience is lacking, it can be downright devastating!

Who do you know who has a similar audience, but offers a complementary service or product? See if they are willing to offer their audience tickets to your workshop in exchange for 50% of the ticket price.  If you think that 50% of the ticket price is a lot to give away, remember that you didn’t have that audience to begin with.  50% of something is still more than 100% of nothing.

And if you are relying on ticket sales to be your major source of revenue, we need to talk about your event strategy.

Media Sponsor

Find a media sponsor that you can partner with to get the word out.  When you think media sponsor, you could get stuck on newspapers, TV and radio.  However, new media are also a great source of publicity and promotion.  Think of websites, digital magazines, ezines and even online radio shows or podcasts that serve your ideal clients.

Then it becomes a matter of how you can make it interesting for them to partner with you.  What can you offer them?  Can you run a contest with them? Do they need killer content you can provide?  Find out what their source of frustration is and what they are looking for.  When you can offer them a solution, you have a match made in heaven.
