In my previous life as an Olympic diver, or actually even before, as I was training to become an Olympic diver in the Netherlands, there was always one girl I was competing with. We were the same age and sometimes she would win, and other times I would.
By the time we were 14 years old, we were the top 2 divers in the country.
But then it came time to do the “big” dives, which meant to add a somersault to our dives.
Although I was more powerful and could jump higher, I was also taller and slower, which made it harder to fit in an additional somersault. I also had something else working against me.
I was petrified.
Heart palpitating, paralyzing fear consumed me.
I stood on the 3 meter board, not moving. For days, weeks even. (Not continuously of course, because hey, a girl has to eat, sleep and go to school.)
Deep in my heart I knew that I had to learn this dive if I wanted to have a chance of competing in the Olympic Games, but I couldn’t get myself to do it.
Then, at one practice where we were training together, I saw my rival perform the dive.
And something changed…
“If SHE can do it,” I thought, “then so can I.”
My fear didn’t diminish. Nope, I was just as scared as ever. But my determination grew. I was not going to let anyone (or any dive) stop me from reaching my goal.
What Is Holding YOU Back?
While chances are that you are not standing on a 3 meter springboard trying to do a reverse 2 ½ somersaults, you may know that hosting an event will get you to your next goal.
But something is holding you back.
It may be fear. It may be something else.
Maybe you think you don’t know enough yet.
Maybe you think no one will show up.
Let me let you in on a little secret.
EVERYONE has hang ups like that.
The question is
“Is that going to stop you from reaching your goals?”
Maybe you just need to see that others are doing it too. People who don’t have any more expertise than you do.
Entrepreneurs who have no more contacts than you. Who don’t have huge lists. In fact, they are just like you.
Maybe they just have more determination.
You have the expertise. There are people who need you to improve their life or their business. Are you going to let them down?
You Can Do It
All you need is some support. Clear action steps that will tell you exactly how to host your own workshop, fill the seats and make it profitable.
And a community of other workshop hosts who are going through the same steps you are. And if THEY can do it, YOU can too!
That is what you will find in the Create Your Own Workshop Challenge.
Take that first step.
I am glad I did. That dive was the first step to make it to not just one, but three Olympic Games. Ironically enough, the first time I really, REALLY nailed that dive was at my first Olympic Games, in 1984 in Los Angeles.
Join the Create Your Own Workshop Challenge right now and before you know it, you will be hosting your own client attracting, money making, successful workshop.
