The Olympics has a huge audience.  It is estimated that over 1 billion people watch the Olympics on television.  It is not surprising that the popularity of the Olympics has coincided with the visuals.  The more access the audience has had to see video footage of the Olympics, the more popular the Games have been.

I remember watching Olympic diving on TV when I was only 7 years old and I started diving shortly thereafter.  And yes, the Olympic Games became an ambition really quickly. Three Olympics later, it was me standing on the diving board.

Of course, as entrepreneurs, we don’t have access to an international broadcasting syndicate.  However, we do have access to video and video distribution.  The technology has progressed so much that everyone with a cell phone can now make decent videos.

Video marketing is required to raise your profile, especially if you want to host events.  After all, you don’t expect your audience to buy a ticket to your event without knowing how you are on stage or on camera, right?

However, as with all marketing vehicles, you can’t just throw up a few videos and see what sticks.  You need a strategy.
