I bet you love what you do, right? Most experts have a passion for their topic and they have a need to help people and serve them.
Maybe you would even do this thing you do if it didn’t pay you. However, we can only stay in business if we make money. After all, there are bills to pay and kids to feed. (And for some of us, there are shoes to buy and places to travel.)
Workshops and seminars are a great way to get a big influx of profit at one time. Frankly, if you do it right, you can secure your income for the entire year from one good event.
But for that to happen you have to have more than one revenue stream. And although most seminar leaders think of ticket sales to monetize their event, that is only a small fraction of the income your workshop should generate.
Most of the income should come from your back of the room sales. This series of blog posts highlights the top 5 things you can sell in the back of the room.
Today we start with # 5:
# 5 Your Next Event
Sell tickets to your next seminar. This can be a complementary event, like the next step in your curriculum. For instance, if you are doing an event with your signature system as the framework, you have about 5 or 7 steps to accomplish your objective. Perhaps 1 of those steps could be a seminar in itself.
You could even sell next year’s event in the back of the room. If you had a great event, and people are energized, they are usually determined to attend again the following year. Take advantage of it by selling tickets at a substantial discount and offer a payment plan. If you have 10-12 months to pay for something it is an easier decision, especially if you are on the “high” created by the workshop.
