In my last post, I promised 6 more ways to grow your business through Winning Workshops.  As a quick recap, Winning Workshops are all about creating events that are WIN/WIN for everyone.  A win for the audience, a win for the vendors and venue and a win for you.  But then I realized I overlooked a BIG one. So here are not 6, but 7 more ways to increase your client base and your profits through live events.

A Winning Workshop turns clients into raving fans. Nothing gets your clients to know, like and trust you faster than a live workshop.  When you create that genuine connection with your audience, they will become your raving fans that buy everything you come out with.

A Winning Workshop generates word of mouth referrals. When you present great content and get people excited about what they have learned and the results that they have achieved because of your workshop training, they can’t wait to share it with others. Ask them for testimonials at the event, when they are most excited and use those testimonials in all your marketing materials.

A Winning Workshop connects you with your audience. Giving your audience the opportunities to share their aha’s and ask their questions at your workshop helps you determine how your audience is processing your information. It also gives you great insights in what your audience needs and may even give you ideas for additional programs.

A Winning Workshop shows you as you really are. Be authentic on the stage and don’t be afraid to show vulnerability.  It will bring you closer to your audience and help you connect better with the audience.  Your audience senses when you are not authentic and you want to build trust.  Remember your audience will only buy from you when they trust you.

In my teleseminars I mention 5 revenue streams for your workshop.  Although not every workshop need to have all 5, you should definitely plan for at least 3.  Incorporate ticket sales, back of the room sales, sponsorships, information products and strategic alliances. A Winning Workshop increases your visibility. Use social media not only to market your workshop and fill the seats, encourage your audience to share their aha’s and experiences on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.  When your workshop’s hashtag starts appearing on Twitter, it creates curiosity and generates buzz for you and your workshop.

BONUS: A Winning Workshop applies leverage in your business. When you are teaching a group of clients at the same time, you are “productizing” your services, getting out of the time for dollars business model. When you do it right, you can generate the same income in a day or a weekend of work, that would normally take you several months.
